Harpocrates was een van de populairste goden in de Grieks-Romeinse periode, hetgeen misschien te maken heeft met zijn aspect van vruchtbaarheidsgod. Hij wordt afgebeeld als een naakt jongetje met een jeugdlok en zijn wijsvinger aan zijn mond.
Harpocrate était l'un des dieux les plus populaires de la Période Gréco-romaine, surtout en tant que dieu de la fertilité. On le représentait sous la forme d'un garçon nu, coiffé de la mèche de l'enfance, portant l'index à la bouche.
Harpokrates zählte in griechisch-römischer Zeit zu den volkstümlichsten Göttern, was nicht zuletzt mit seiner Eigenschaft als Fruchtbarkeitsgott zusammenhängen dürfte. Er ist als nackter Knabe mit Jugendlocke und dem an den Mund gelegten Zeigefinger wiedergegeben.
