De god Sjoe en de godin Tefnoet vormden het eerste paar van de Enneade van Heliopolis. Sjoe wordt beschouwd als de god van de ruimte tussen hemel en aarde, maar ook als de incarnatie van de koele noordenwind. In die hoedanigheid lijkt hij een belangrijke godheid voor de doden te zijn geweest. De bede om verfrissing is in bijna ieder graf aanwezig. 
Sjoe-amuletten beelden de god knielend af met zijn armen opgeheven. Op zijn hoofd bevindt zich een zonneschijf.

Les dieux Chou et Tefnout constituent le premier couple de l'Ennéade d'Héliopolis. Chou est considéré comme étant l'espace entre le ciel et la terre, mais aussi comme l'incarnation du vent du nord froid. Dans ce sens, il semble avoir été une divinité importante pour les défunts. Le souhait de se rafraîchir est mentionné dans presque chaque tombe. Le dieu est ici représenté à genoux, les bras levés. Sa tête est ornée du disque solaire.

Der Gott Schu bildet mit Tefnut das erste Paar der Neunheit von Heliopolis. Er gilt sowohl als Gott des Raumes zwischen Himmel und Erde als auch als Verkörperung des kühlenden Nordwindes. Als letzteres scheint er auch für den Toten ein wichtiger Gott gewesen sein. Der Wunsch nach Erfrischung findet sich in fast jedem Grab.
Schu-Amulette zeigen den Gott kniend, die Arme erhoben. Auf dem Kopf trägt er eine Sonnenscheibe.

Il dio Shu insieme a Tefnut costituiva la prima coppia dell'Enneade di Heliopolis. Egli è considerato il dio dello spazio tra cielo e terra, ma anche l'incarnazione del fresco vento del nord. Infine sembra anche che egli sia stato un importante dio per il defunto. Il desiderio di essere rinfrescati si trova quasi in ogni tomba. Amuleti raffiguranti Shu mostrano il dio inginocchiato con le braccia alzate. Sulla testa vi è il disco solare.

Los amuletos en forma de Shu muestran al dios arrodillado con los brazos alzados. Sobre la cabeza lleva un disco solar.

The god Shu together with Tefnut formed the first couple of the Ennead of Heliopolis. He is regarded as the god of the space between heaven and earth but also as the incarnation of the cool north wind. In his latter capacity he seems to have been an important deity for the deceased. The wish for refreshment is encountered in almost every tomb.
Shu amulets show the god kneeling with his arms raised. On his head there is the sun disc.
