Description
Blue-painted pottery storage vessel, from el-`Amarna, the city founded in Middle Egypt as Residence and centre of the sun-cult under Akhenaten. The cobalt blue pigment is typical of the colourful tastes of the city, constructed at a time of increased trade between Egypt and other centres of production. At other periods ancient Egyptian pottery tends to be plain.

Blauwgeschilderd aardewerken opslagvat, uit El-`Amarna, de stad die in Midden-Egypte gesticht werd als residentie en centrum van de zonnecultus onder Achnaton. Het kobaltblauwe pigment is typerend voor de kleurrijke smaak van de stad, die gebouwd werd in een tijd van toenemende handel tussen Egypte en andere productiecentra. In andere perioden van de oud-Egyptische geschiedenis was het aardewerk meestal effen.
Récipient de stockage en terre cuite peinte en bleu, provenant d`Amarna. Cette ville de Moyenne Égypte fut fondée, sous Akhénaton, pour accueillir sa résidence et le centre du culte solaire. Blaubemaltes Vorratsgefäß aus Ton, aus el-`Amarna, der unter Echnaton in Mittelägypten als Residenz und Zentrum des Sonnenkultes gegründeten Stadt. Das kobaltblaue Pigment ist typisch für den farbenfrohen Geschmack dieser Stadt, die zu einer Zeit intensivierten Handels zwischen Ägypten und anderen Produktionszentren errichtet wurde. Zu anderen Zeiten tendierte die ägyptische Keramik zur Unverziertheit.
Vaso da stoccaggio di terracotta dipinta di colore blu, proveniente da El-`Amarna, la città fondata nel Medio Regno come residenza e centro del culto del sole durante il regno di Akhenaton. Il pigmento blu-cobalto è tipico del gusto colorato della città, costruita al tempo della crescita del commercio fra l'Egitto e gli altri centri di produzione. Negli altri periodi dell'antico Egitto la ceramica tende ad essere semplice.
