Description
Fine faience figurine of the god Ptah, in the form of a dwarf. There is a suspension loop at the back for wear as an amulet. Ptah was a god of craft and the creative power particularly in metalwork. In the Late Period he could be depicted as a dwarf, the unusual anatomy expressing the difference and mysterious power of the creator.

Fraai faience beeldje van de god Ptah in de vorm van een dwerg. Aan de achterkant bevindt zich een ophangoogje om het beeldje als amulet te kunnen dragen. Ptah was een god van vakmanschap en scheppende kracht, vooral in metaalwerk. In de Late Periode werd hij ook als dwerg afgebeeld, waarbij de ongebruikelijke anatomie het anders-zijn en de mysterieuze kracht van de schepper uitbeeldde.
Elégante figurine en faïence du dieu Ptah représenté sous la forme d'un nain. Il y a un anneau de suspension à l'arrière permettant de la porter en amulette. Ptah était le dieu de l'artisanat et du pouvoir créateur, en particulier dans le travail du métal. A Basse Époque, il pouvait être représenté sous la forme d'un nain. Cette anatomie inhabituelle exprimait la différence et le pouvoir mystérieux du démiurge.
Schönes Fayencefigürchen des Gottes Ptah in Gestalt eines Zwergs. An der Rückseite befindet sich eine Öse, so daß es als Amulett getragen werden konnte. Ptah war ein Gott des Handwerks und der schöpferischen Kraft, insbesondere bei Metallarbeiten. In der Spätzeit konnte er als Zwerg dargestellt werden, dessen ungewöhnliche Anatomie die Andersartigkeit und mysteriöse Macht des Schöpfers ausdrückte.
Figurina in faience del dio Ptah, avente la forma di un nano. C'è un anello di sospensione sul dorso perché potesse essere indossata come amuleto; la testa della figura è ora perduta ma compare, come tipologia, in L1030:181. Ptah era il dio dell'artigianato e del potere creativo, specialmente nella metallurgia. In Epoca Tarda poteva essere rappresentato come un nano. In questo caso l'inusuale anatomia esprimeva la differenza ed il potere misterioso del creatore.
Esta figura em fina faiança representa o deus Ptah, em forma de anão. Tem um laço para suspensão na parte de trás, para ser usado como amuleto. Ptah era o deus do artesanato e do poder creativo, principalmente a metalurgia. Na Época Baixa, era representado como anão, uma anatomia pouco usual que visava mostrar o poder misterioso e diferente do criador.
Delicada figurita de fayenza del dios Ptah con forma de enano. Hay un anillo de suspensión en la parte posterior para llevarla como amuleto. Ptah era el dios de la artesanía y el poder creador de, sobre todo, el trabajo de metal. En la Baja Época podía ser representado como enano, pues esa inusual anatomía expresaba el diferente y misterioso poder del creador.
