Grote geglazuurde steatieten scarabee met een fragment mummiewindsel aan de rug. Veel moderne imitaties zijn bedekt met stukjes stof, soms antiek, om ze een air van authenticiteit te verlenen. De onderkant van de scarabee draagt een tekst in door elkaar gehusselde hiërogliefen waaronder de troonnaam van Thoetmosis III. De vorm van de ingekraste tekens en de combinaties zijn typerend voor moderne imitaties. Dit exemplaar is belangrijk, aangezien de datum van verwerving een relatief vroeg-moderne datering geeft, in de jaren 1840.

Grand scarabée en stéatite émaillée, avec un fragment de bandelette de momie attaché sur le dos. Beaucoup d'imitations modernes sont couvertes de morceaux d'étoffe parfois ancienne pour donner un air d'authenticité. La face inférieure du scarabée comporte un texte en faux hiéroglyphes, incluant le nom de trône de Thoutmosis III. La forme des signes incisés et les combinaisons sont typiques des imitations modernes. Cet exemple est important, car, d'après la date d'acquisition, entre 1840 et 1850, il serait relativement ancien.

Großer glasierter Skarabäus aus Steatit, an dessen Rücken ein Stück Mumienbinde befestigt ist. Viele moderne Imitationen sind mit, manchmal alten, Stoffetzen bedeckt, um ihnen einen Anschein von Echtheit zu verleihen. Die Unterseite des Skarabäus ist mit einem Text aus verworrenen Hieroglyphen beschriftet, darunter auch der Thronname Thutmosis' III. Die Form der eingeritzten Zeichen und die Zusammenstellung sind typisch für eine moderne Imitation. Dieses Exemplar ist von einiger Bedeutung, da sein Ankauf in den 1840er Jahren darauf hinweist, daß es sich um ein relativ frühes modernes Stück handelt.

Molte imitazioni moderne sono coperte con pezzi di stoffa, a volte antica, per fornire un'aria di autenticità. La parte inferiore riporta un testo di geroglifici falsificati che comprendono il <!-->nome di trono di Tuthmosi III. La forma e la disposizione dei segni sono tipiche di imitazioni moderne. Questo esemplare è importante e la data di acquisizione indica una datazione relativamente moderna, gli anni quaranta dell'Ottocento.

Grande escaravelho em esteatite vidrada, com um fragmento de faixa de múmia apertada nas costas.  Muitas imitações modernas estão cobertas em restos de pano, muitas vezes antigos, para dar ar de autenticidade. A parte de baixo do escaravelho tem um texto em hieróglifos, incluindo o <!-->nome de trono de Tutmés III. As formas dos signos incisos e as combinações são típicas das imitações modernas. Este exemplar é importante, pois, como indica a data de aquisição, data de 1840.

Muchas imitaciones moderna aparecen cubiertas con jirones de tela, en ocasiones antiguas, para darles un aire de autenticidad. La parte inferior del escarabeo lleva un texto en confuso jeroglífico que incluye el nombre de coronación de Thutmosis III. La forma de los signos incisos y su disposición es típica de las imitaciones modernas. Este ejemplar es importante porque la fecha de adquisición es relativamente moderna, 1840.

Large glazed steatite scarab, with a fragment from a mummy bandage fastened to the back. Many modern imitations are covered in shreds of cloth, sometimes ancient, to lend an air of authenticity. The underside of the scarab bears a text in garbled hieroglyphs including the throne-name of Tuthmosis III. The forms of the incised signs and the combinations are typical of modern imitations. This example is important, as the date of acquisition indicates a relatively early modern date, in the 1840s.
