Description
Pottery vase in the form of the ritual vessel for libations, used in the hieroglyphic script for the sound 'h+s'. The hes-vase has flat base, slender foot, convex body profile, a short narrow neck, and broad flat rim. This example has a more convex shoulder than the classic hes-vase. Margaret Murray recorded the surface as being covered with a red pigment. The vase was found in a tomb of the early Middle Kingdom, about 1900 BC.

Aardewerken vaas in de vorm van het rituele plengoffervat, dat in het hiërogliefenschrift gebruikt wordt voor de klank 'h+s'. Die Vase wurde in einem Grab des frühen Mittleren Reiches, etwa 1900 v. Chr., gefunden.

Il vaso hes ha la base piatta, piede snello, profilo del corpo convesso, collo corto e stretto, orlo ampio e piatto. Questo esemplare presenta una spalla più convessa rispetto al classico vaso hes. Margaret Murray annota che la superficie era coperta da un pigmento rosso. Il vaso è stato trovato in una tomba dell'inizio del Medio Regno, databile al 1900 a.C. circa.
