Description
Pottery vessel of almost spherical body, with narrower neck. The jar was found in a tomb of the early Middle Kingdom, about 1900 BC, at Beni Hassan in Middle Egypt. It was presumably used to contain food offerings for the deceased.

Aardewerken kruik met bijna rond lichaam en nauwere hals. De kruik is gevonden in een graf uit het vroege Middenrijk, rond 1900 voor Christus, in Beni Hasan in Midden-Egypte, en is waarschijnlijk gebruikt om voedseloffers voor de overledene te bevatten.
Récipient en terre cuite, au corps presque sphérique, au col étroit. Elle provient d'une tombe datée d'environ 1900 avant J.-C., au début du Moyen Empire, découverte à Beni Hassan, en Moyenne Égypte. On l'utilisait, vraisemblablement, pour stocker des offrandes alimentaires destinées au défunt.
Tongefäß mit beinahe kugelförmigem Körper und schmalerem Hals. Der Topf wurde in einem Grab des frühen Mittleren Reiches, etwa 1900 v. Chr., in Beni Hassan in Mittelägypten gefunden. Es enthielt vermutlich Speiseopfer für den Verstorbenen.
