Description
This ostracon has a small sketch that depicts an almost nude adult, sitting on a high stool, raising his left hand to protect himself from the heat of a strong flame in front of him. The adult's body is colored dark brown and it is hard to determine if he is wearing a kilt; the upper part of his body is apparently nude. The hairstyle suggests that he is a youth, but the artist represented him as a fat person, which may be seen from the curved surface of his stool. This sketch could be an attempt by the artist to capture a little of the life he saw around him.

Cet ostracon représente un adulte quasi nu, assis sur un pliant et levant la main gauche pour se protéger de la chaleur d'une flamme vive. Le corps de cet adulte est de couleur brun foncé et il est difficile de dire s'il porte un pagne. Apparemment, la partie supérieure de son corps est nue. La coiffure laisse à supposer qu'il s'agit d'un jeune homme. Toutefois, l'artiste le représenta sous les traits d'une personne obèse. Ce détail peut être observé en raison de la surface courbe du tabouret. Avec cette esquisse, l'artiste a peut-être voulu saisir quelques instants de la vie qui l'entourait.
نرى على هذه اللوحة رسم صغير يمثل رجل بالغ شبه عارى يجلس على كرسى مرتفع بلا ظهر ويرفع يده اليسرى ليحمى نفسه من حرارة الشعلة القوية التى أمامه. وقد لون جسمه باللون البنى الداكن ومن الصعب معرفة ما إذا كان يلبس نقبة أم لا، غير أن الجزء العلوى من جسده عارى. ومن خلال ظراز شعره يمكن القول بأنه شاب، إلا أن الفنان صوره كشخص بدين كما يمكن أن يفهم من سطح كرسيه المحنى. وربما كان هذا الرسم محاولة من الفنان للتعبير عن صور من الحياة التى يراها حوله.
