Description
Khnumhotep, the priest and overseer of the royal wardrobe, was an Egyptian dwarf who suffered from physical deformity. He is represented with his torso exaggeratedly large in proportion to his short legs and arms. The expression of his face is very characteristic. He has a broad, fat chest and belly and relatively large ears. His name and titles are inscribed on the base of the statue.

Khnumhotep, le prêtre et contremaître de la garde-robe royale, était le type de nain égyptien souffrant de malformations physiques. Il est représenté avec un torse exagérément large proportionnellement à ses jambes et ses bras qui sont courts. L'expression de son visage est très caractéristique. Sa poitrine et son ventre sont larges et gros et ses oreilles sont relativement grandes. Son nom et ses titres sont inscrits sur la base de la statue.
كان خنوم-حتب، الكاهن ورئيس خزانه الملابس الملكية، قزماً مصرياً وكان يعانى من قزامة نتيجة لتشوه خلقى. وقد مثل فى هذا التمثال بجذع عريض جداً بالنسبة لساقيه وذراعيه القصيرة. غير أن تعبير الوجه مميز جداً. ونلاحظ أن خنوم-حتب كان ذو صدر وبطن ممتلئين وأذن كبيرة نوعاً ما. وقد نحت اسمه وألقابه على القاعدة.
