Imhotep is represented sitting on a chair with his feet resting on a rectangular base; the chair and the base are placed on a larger base, all the elements of the composition being cast together. Imhotep wears a long garment and a broad collar; his head is shaven. The whites of the eyes are inlaid with gold. In his hands he holds an unrolled papyrus bearing three horizontal lines of hieroglyphic inscription.
